Re-Brand

Its been a while since my last post, but I hope to fix that and post every 2 weeks from now on.

That being said, my excuse is relatively good in that I have resurrected Ataxia as "Turret Tilt".
There is A LOT to cover, but that will have to be another day.

Expect "Turret Tilt" to release this coming
SUNDAY (4-21-13)
Also expect a follow up post on what has been changed sometime that evening!

Thanks!

Release->March 07 Download Graph

In the beginning.

Hello World! I will be using these blog posts as a way to hopefully gauge peoples interests in upcoming features for my iOS game "Ataxia". I look forward to having a way to keep myself accountable while developing!

Ataxia Release Breakdown:

Marketing Prep:
I basically sent the app to every reviewer I could find, posted on every forum that allowed it and got the great help of family and friends to spread the word. This "seems" to have worked pretty well, Ataxia hasn't become an overnight money making machine, but I have had a steady increase in downloads each day and a strong return rate on players.

Launch Bugs:
Initial release was plagued with to difficult of a beginning (most people died at 1:50) and some bugs that broke the game. Thankfully (after doing an expedited review) I was able to get a patch released on March 7th, without any customers making formal complaints. Though I probably lost valuable customers on my first few days. :(

Being featured (somewhere):
Initial release of an app doesn't put you on any featured lists. I didn't know this going in and thought I would it least be on the "featured->games->arcade->new" list. Ataxia was eventually placed on the list, but not until Monday the following week. This was easily the most stressful part of release, since I had dismal sales up till this point.

Slow Climb:
Ataxia has been in the store for a week now. It still sits in 3rd place on the "new" arcade game list and 5th in new actions games. Unfortunately I missed the cut to be in any "special" featured lists (they choose/update these on Thursday afternoons) so downloads have been slowly rising each day. I think the success, however mild, is due in large to tons of Reddit and other forum posts (no replies from any of the 20 review sites). I imagine once Ataxia drops off the front pages of these it will loose downloads and start to fall. BUT till then I plan on updating this blog on current work I am doing and keeping everyone informed on pending updates/releases!

I am a terrible writer! Leave comments pointing out my many mistakes and what you though of Ataxia, what you would like to see and anything else that comes to mind!

Cheers!
